AN AMERICAN WORKING IN AFGHANISTAN
Dave, It's great guys like you that make a difference in a screwed up world like this. Stay safe and keep charging forward.

You probably don't remember me, but I remember you! a little over three years ago I happened upon you at the La Colombe by City Hall in Philadelphia. You were sitting at the counter, and said I looked like I was having a bad day. I was, but I think I just muttered something inconsequential. You asked if I wanted a hug and picked me up into the best hug I think I've ever had. Then you gave me a photocopy of the first chapter of your book.
Anyways, I was on my way to visit my dad in the hospital, he was beginning his chemotherapy treatments for stage 4 lung cancer. So, reading your chapter on the train brought up a lot of feelings. I bought your book shortly after we met, but I lost my dad shortly after that and didn't feel ready to read your book for a while. I finally read it this fall, and it's really really beautiful. Thank you so much for the hug that day, and for putting your journey into words.

I just reading your book this morning, and absolutely loved it! I am thankful that you both challenged yourself to go on those adventures, but even more so that you shared them with all of us.

David is a remarkable person who inspired me to think even bigger than I already do.
